After a short but intense campaign by some of its members, the Republican Party has abandoned its call for the Democratic Party to rename itself as the ‘Democrat Socialist Party.’
According to the Associated Press, the move spurred a fight within the GOP ranks that reflected the divide between those who want to take the party in a more centrist direction and those seeking to give it a more conservative tone. ( read more at )
